| Onslow County Public Library has recently rolled out their 2020 Reading Challenge details, will you accept the challenge? This is a great way to show your children how reading can be made fun! Get them involved by bringing them to the library with you, get them their own library card if they don't have one already, or have them do their own reading challenge along with you and support each other. They did a good job to make sure there is a variety of books throughout the year to keep it interesting for everyone as well as making it easy to log your progress. The 2019 Summer Reading Challenge had over 11,000 logged reading hours so I am excited to see how many hours will be logged for the 2020 Reading Challenge! Prizes for this challenge will be drawn in December 2020. |

Onslow County Public Library holds used book sales throughout the year, it is the perfect place to purchase books at a great price. The sale takes place over a 3-day span with the first day being a preview sale for members only. If you are not a member but would like to still shop on the first night you can register to become a member at the event. The membership fee for an individual is $5 and for a family the fee is $10. You can also bring gently used books with you to the Used Book Sale to donate before you shop to make room for some new book.
