Halloween Safety Tips & Local Trick or Treating Hours

By Lisa Hamilton October 29, 2019

Halloween is fun for both kids & adults (well at least I like it) but once the mass amounts of sugar are mixed into the evening the already hyper kids get a little more spunky. Below are a few safety tips for Halloween night as well as the Trick or Treating times for individual towns in our area.

Halloween Safety Tips

1. Bring flashlights! Everyone should carry one, it doesn't need to be big just something to help everyone see where they are walking.

2. Glowsticks, Glowsticks, and more Glowsticks! Everyone should also have on a glowstick if you are Trick or Treating with a group of kids it is a good idea for everyone in the group to have the same color. This makes it easier to spot your group once the sun starts to go down!

3. Trick or Treat on one side of the street, then work your way back on the opposite side. Much safer than having a bunch of kids zigzagging across the street in front of cars.

4. ONLY go to houses with the light on

5. Make sure the kids know NOT to go into anyone's house to get Halloween candy

6. Inspect your child's candy before they dig in! Look for unwrapped items, tears in a candy wrapper, choking hazards, and items that are not candy.
