How your kids can bowl for FREE all Summer Long In Jacksonville, North Carolina! There is a program I discovered in the recent past that has become a real lifesaver for me when it comes to cabin fever or rainy days. Being that the school year is almost over I wanted to share it with you guys so you can get some good use out of it this Summer! The program is called Kids Bowl Free and BowlArena Lanes in Jacksonville participates in it! |  |
Kids Bowl Free is a program that offers children between the ages of 2-16 bowl two free games a day from April 15th to August 31st at Bowlarena Lanes in Jacksonville and other participating bowling alleys across the United States. Initial registration is required for this program, after that once a weekly email containing the free bowling coupons to print out and use at the bowling alley. The shoe rentals are not covered by Kids Bowl Free so you are still responsible for paying that fee when you go. The shoe rental fee at BowlArean Lanes in Jacksonville currently is $3.75 but if you have bowling shoes already then it will be completely free.

Register for Kids Bowl Free BowlArena in Jacksonville here It will give you an option at the end to pay a small fee (about $30 if I remember right) to add up to 4 adults to have the same ability to bowl 2 free games a day. I personally add 4 adults to the deal. I did find some promo codes for a few bucks or percentage off the fee for adding the adults, I have not confirmed the promo codes recently not positive if they are still working. I wanted to still include them in the article just in case any of them still worked so you can save some money. Maybe we will run into each other over the Summer at the bowling alley!

Here is a little history on Bowlarena Lanes:
The bowling alley started off with only 6 lanes and was first opened by a local Marine Roger Douglas with the help of some of his friends from the Marine Corps in 1955. Roger Douglas ended up not re-enlisting so he and his wife could put all their focus on the bowling alley. Then unfortunately a few years later in 1960 there was an electrical fire and the business was completely burned down. They rebuild Bowlarena about a year later in 1961 making it twice as big as originally having 18 lanes a little further down LeJeune Blvd, it operated for 18 years at this location. The business was doing so good in 1979 they expanded even more by building the facility to the 32 lanes! To this day BowlArena is still run by the Douglas family!
Here are the current bowling prices:
-Monday-Friday up till 5:00 pm: $3.75 per person, per game
-Monday-Thursday from 5:00 pm to close: $4.50 per person, per game
-Fridays 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm: $4.50 per person, per game
-Saturdays up till 9:00 pm: $4.50 per person, per game
-Sundays all day: $4.50 per person, per game
*On Fridays & Saturdays 9:00 pm to close there is a special called Thunder Alley which is $25 per hour, per lane with up to 6 people in that lane!
In addition to bowling, BowlArena has a Game Room with arcade games to enjoy, a kitchen that has the typical finger foods for purchase, and has Birthday Party Packages to host a birthday party at their facility. They also have a few different bowling leagues throughout the year that can be found here.
